• Before connecting the device to your power supply, ensure that the mains

voltage specied on the type plate corresponds to that of your power supply.

• Only connect the plug to the socket when the device is switched off.

• Never carry, pull or twist the device by the power cord and do not pinch the

cord.

• Position the power cord so that there is no risk of falling and no risk of stran-

gulation.

• Do not touch the power plug when standing in water and always handle the

plug with dry hands.

sons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities or lack of experience

and knowledge, if they are supervised or have been instructed regarding the

safe use of the device and understand the hazards resulting from its use.

• In the case of an allergic respiratory illness, consult your doctor before using

the device.

• Talk to your doctor if health complaints should occur during use. In this case,

stop using the device immediately.

operating the device

• The device is not intended for commercial use.

• Use the device only for its intended purpose, as directed by the user instruc-

tions. In the event of misuse, all guarantees become null and void!

• Do not use the appliance if the appliance itself, cables or plugs are damaged,

if it is not working properly or if it has been dropped or fallen into water.

• Do not use the unit under blankets, towels, etc.

• Remove neck and face jewellery before each use.

• Do not hold your face closer than 25 cm to the nozzle during use, as the hot

steam may cause burns. Close your eyes and protect heat-sensitive areas

during use.

• Do not use for more than 20 minutes.

• Do not shake the appliance while using it. You could be scalded or burned.

• Keep the device, including the power cable, away from hot surfaces.

• For use, place the device on a solid, at surface so that it cannot topple over.

• Never attempt to take hold of a device that has fallen into water. Immediately

remove the plug.

• Do not use the device if the water tank is empty or contains insufcient liquid.

• Do not use essential oils (e.g. eucalyptus or menthol) as these can damage

the device.

• Keep the ventilation slots on the underside of the device free of dust and dirt.

• Switch off all functions after use and remove the plug from the socket.

maintenance and cleaning

• You may only clean the device. In the event of malfunctions, do not proceed

with any unauthorised repair of the device. Otherwise, this will render any war-

ranty claims void. Ask your dealer and have repairs done only by medisana

services.

• Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without super-

vision.

• Do not immerse the device into water or other uids. Should uid enter the

device, immediately remove the plug.

• If the power supply cord is damaged, it may only be replaced by medisana, an

authorised dealer or by qualied personnel in order to avoid hazards.

• Store the device in dry place.

Intended use

The unit is used to generate warm steam (≤ 45°C), which can then be used for

cosmetic treatment of the facial skin.

Use the device for a maximum of 20 minutes per day.

Scope of delivery

First, check whether the device is complete and is not damaged. If in doubt, do

not operate the device and contact your supplier or service centre.

The scope of delivery includes:

• 1 medisana DS 600 Facial Steamer

• 1 instruction manual

The packaging is recyclable or can be recycled back into the raw materials

cycle. Please dispose of unwanted packaging materials properly. If damage

caused during transport is noted while unpacking, please contact your retailer

immediately.

Cleaning and care

• With daily use we recommend that the device should be thoroughly cleaned

at least every three days. Also clean the device before and after long periods

of storage.

• Before cleaning the device, ensure that the device is switched off and the

mains plug is disconnected from the socket.

• If you do not use the device for a long time, empty the remaining water from

the water tank and dry the device.

• Clean the outside of the device with a damp, soft cloth.

• Do not use aggressive substances, such as scouring milk or other agents for

cleaning.

• Lime residue can be removed using a mild descaling agent, e.g. citric acid.

• Store the device in a cool, dry place; ideally in the original packaging.

• To prevent contamination/algae growth from the outset, drain the device and

tank prior to long periods of decommission.

Disposal

This device must not be disposed of together with household waste.

Every consumer is obliged to hand in all electrical or electronic devi-

ces, regardless of whether they contain pollutants or not, to a collection

point in his or her town or at a retailer, so that they can be disposed of

in an environmentally friendly manner. Contact your local authority or

retailer regarding disposal.

Warranty and repair conditions

Your statutory warranty rights are not restricted by our guarantee below. In

case of warranty please contact your specialist shop or the service centre

directly. Should you have to return the device, please state the defect and

enclose a copy of the purchase receipt or invoice.

The following warranty conditions apply:

1. All medisana products are guaranteed for 3 years from the date of

purchase. In case of a warranty claim, the purchase receipt or invoice must

be provided as proof of purchase date.

2. Faults due to material or manufacturing defects will be rectied free of

charge within the warranty period.

3. A warranty service does not extend the warranty period for either the

equipment or for replacement components.

4. The following are excluded from the warranty:

a. any damage caused by improper use, e.g. not following the user

instructions.

b. damage caused by repair or intervention by the purchaser or

unauthorised third parties.

c. transport damage that has occurred on the way from the manufacturer to

the consumer or has arisen during transit to the service point.

d. spare parts that are subject to normal wear and tear.

5. Liability for direct or indirect consequential damages caused by the device

is also excluded if the damage to the device is recognised as a warranty

claim.

Preparing and using the device

1. Place the unit on a at, rm, level and waterproof surface. Never hold the

device in your hand during operation.

CAUTION

Only use distilled water to operate the appliance.

Do not use tap water or other liquids to ll the water tank.

During longer operation, precipitation / deposits may occur.

Make sure that the escaping steam is not directed at other

electrical appliances, furniture or walls.
